THE DANISH CENTER FOR MINDFULNESS
PROUDLY PRESENTED THE ONLINE PREMIERE OF
MY YEAR OF LIVING MINDFULLY
(May 27 – June 03, 2020)

FEATURING THE WORLD’S LEADING MINDFULNESS EXPERTS
Overwhelmed with insomnia and an incurable autoimmune disease, Shannon Harvey needed to make a change. But while the award-winning health journalist found plenty of recommendations on diet, sleep and exercise, when she looked for the equivalent of a 30-minute workout for her mental wellbeing, there was nothing.
Worried for the future mental health of her kids who were growing up amidst epidemics of stress, anxiety, depression and addiction, in a world-first experiment, Shannon recruited a team of scientists to put mindful meditation to the test. But after a 30,000 kilometre journey from the bright lights of Manhattan to the dusty refugee camps of the Middle East, what begins as a self-experiment, transforms into a life-changing experience.
My Year of Living Mindfully is filled with compelling stories, interviews with 18 leading scientists, and unexpected insights that go to the heart of what it means to be human in the twenty-first century.

FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE DANISH CENTER FOR MINDFULNESS
The Danish Center for Mindfulness (DCM) was established in 2013 as part of the Institute of Clinical Medicine at Aarhus University, backed by funding by the Danish Trygfonden.
We carry out research on stress and stress reduction, run evidence-based courses in mindfulness (MBSR and MBCT) and compassion (CCT) and is the only institution in Denmark that educates internationally certified mindfulness-teachers. We do so in cooperation with Brown University (MBSR) and Oxford University (MBCT). In addition, we plan to offer a teacher education in CCT in cooperation with Stanford University.
We work on a societal level to increase the knowledge and use of mindfulness-based interventions in Danish healthcare, schools, criminal justice and work places. We do so to improve mental health for individuals and society at large.
Our inspiration comes in part from developments in countries such as Great Britain, with the Mindfulness Initiative, and The Netherlands - in addition to the UN's sustainable development goals for 2030, in which mental health plays a significant role.
